Betting on Steph Curry, the NBA’s current king of three-pointers, is often a solid proposition. Now it’s a no-brainer bet at DraftKings Sportsbook.
And hey, technically, you’ll have to bet against the Washington Wizards. But seriously, this one is too good to pass up.
In its latest wow-this-is-too-easy promo, DraftKings has unveiled a special Curry-themed bet. It’s slated for Wednesday’s game in Washington, DC, between the Wizards and Golden State Warriors (7 p.m., NBC Sports Washington).
However, for the no-brainer bet, you’re not wagering on the point spread, moneyline or total. Instead, you’re simply betting on Curry to do something he’s done in all 49 games in 2021.
Steph Curry’s no-brainer bet
Think Curry can hit a three-pointer for the Warriors? He’s so done every game this year. In fact, he’s hit a 3-pointer in every game since Nov. 8, 2018, when he left early with an injury.
This season, in fact, the 33-year-old is leading the NBA in three-pointers made (250 entering Monday). He also leads the league in three-pointers made per game (5.1). Just look at his ranking among the all-time NBA leaders:
- Three-pointers made: 2,745 (second)
- Three-point attempts: 6,325 (fifth)
- Career games with 10+ 3-pointers: 30 (first)
All of this is a way of saying: Betting on Steph Curry to make at least one three-pointer in a game isn’t a lock. But damn if it isn’t close.
So, if you’re looking for a bet that requires little research, little stress and no brains, this is it.
How to get a piece of the Curry bet
Simply log into DraftKings and look for the “No Brainer Bets” special market.
Once you opt in, you can wager up to $25 at +100 odds that Curry will make at least one three-pointer in the April 21 game.
Just be sure to select the special boost before you place your bet. Additionally, each DraftKings customer can make just one wager in the special market. The promotion doesn’t include live bets, parlays, free bets, cash-out bets or voided bets.
Otherwise, once you’ve made your bet, sit back and wait for Curry to do his thing.
During his 12-year career, the seven-time All-Star and two-time NBA MVP has taken on 29 different teams. However, he’s been especially effective against the Wizards:
- Points per game: 28.3 points (first out of his 29 opponents)
- Three-point percentage: 48.9% (second out of his 29 opponents)
In his only game against the Wizards this season, Curry posted 32 points, with five three-pointers.
So yeah, even if you end up betting on the Wizards to win, it doesn’t take a brainiac to realize the Curry bet is too valuable to pass up.
DraftKings and other sportsbooks fairly regularly roll out promotions like this one. You may be thinking, “What’s the catch?” But thankfully, there really isn’t one.
As Virginia sportsbooks fight for customers and market share, they frequently offer no-sweat bets to keep players engaged. So sure, you may be betting for a Wizards opponent. But for this special bet, we won’t question your allegiance.
