Want to bet on the 2021 US Open but not sure where to start? DraftKings VA has just the PGA golf betting promo for you.

In fact, if you like a little drama and bad blood with your Virginia sports betting, this one will be hard to pass up.

Ahead of this week’s 2021 United States Open Championship at Torrey Pines Golf Course, DraftKings has unveiled a very special prop bet.

In fact, it’s a rare situation in which there’s plus-money and implied value on either side of the bet.

And best of all? You can finally take a side in the PGA’s heated rivalry between tour stars Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka.

Odds boost: DeChambeau vs. Koepka at US Open

This week’s four-day tournament (June 17-20) kicks off on Thursday in San Diego. It’s the third of golf’s four major championships.

All eyes will be on Torrey Pines and its 7,652-yard, par-71 layout. Of course, all eyes will also be on the star-studded field, which features 156 of the world’s top golfers.

And among that field are two standouts. In fact, they’re also among the golfers with the best odds to win the ’21 US Open.

Oh, and they also hate each other’s guts. Big time. I mean, there are even Koepka-DeChambeau memes, after all.

So, why not pick a side? DraftKings is encouraging you to do just that with a special US Open prop bet with boosted odds. Simply pick which golfer – DeChambeau or Koepka – will finish in a better position, and DraftKings will offer you +110 odds on either golfer! Just a few details to keep in mind:

  • Once you opt-in for the promo at DraftKings, you’ll get one single-use Odds Boost for either golfer.
  • The max wager is $25.
  • Be sure to choose the boost on your betting slip before confirming the wager.
  • The Odds Boost expires at tee-off time on Thursday (approximately 10:15 a.m. ET), so make your bet before then.
  • The promotion is open to new and current DraftKings customers.

At DraftKings, DeChambeau (+1500) has the second-best odds to win the tournament, and Koepka has the fifth-best (+1900). Additionally, without the boost, DeChambeau is a -136 favorite over +105 underdog Koepka (look under the “Groups” tab to find head-to-head matchups).

Therefore, if you’re looking for a straight odds/value play, DeChambeau is probably the way to go.

But hey, we couldn’t fault you for going with your heart instead of your head and choosing Koepka if he’s your guy.

About the DeChambeau vs. Koepka rivalry

Although the PGA standouts have despised each other for a few years now, the rivalry recently became mainstream fodder.

It’s all thanks to a recently leaked video. In it, the simple physical presence of DeChambeau forced an eye-roll for the ages from Koepka.

And like that, one of golf’s pettiest – and honestly, a friggin’ hilarious – rivalries was renewed.

Golf.com has a brief recap of the feud’s history:

“The rift between Koepka and DeChambeau stretches back to at least January 2019, and the two have traded barbs ever since. Koepka has criticized DeChambeau’s pace of play, DeChambeau has criticized Koepka’s abs, Koepka has flexed his trophy collection, DeChambeau has confronted him in person, Koepka has made fun of DeChambeau asking for a ruling, etc. But we’d never seen Koepka quite like this. It felt real, and honest, and like a telling moment for two past and future Ryder Cup teammates.”

And sure, there are some legitimate hard feelings there. These guys genuinely, sincerely, despise each other. But as even Koepka recently admitted, these feuds are good for the game and for attracting new viewers.

More 2021 US Open betting

At DraftKings in VA, Jon Rahm (+1050) is the favorite to win the 2021 US Open, as of Wednesday.

He’s followed by DeChambeau (+1500), Dustin Johnson (+1500), Xander Schauffele (+1500), Koepka (+1900), and Jordan Spieth (+1900).

However, all VA online sportsbooks offer a virtual cornucopia of US Open wagering options. You can bet, for example, on:

  • First-round leader
  • A golfer to make the top 5 (or top 10, top 20, top 30, or top 40)
  • Miss or make the cut
  • Group betting and 3 balls
  • First round leader (FRL)

You can even bet on things like the nationality of the winner and whether or not someone will make a hole-in-one during the Open.

In fact, Caesars VA has a host of Odds Boosts for the tournament:

  • Lee Westwood Top 20: +400
  • Garrick Higgo Top 10: +500
  • Patrick Cantlay Top 5: +500
  • Phil Mickelson Top 10: +500
  • Will Zalatoris Top 5: +650
  • Dustin Johnson, Xander Schauffele, Viktor Hovland, and Paul Casey all Top 20 (including ties): +700
  • Cameron Champ Top 20: +750
  • Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas both to shoot 69 or less in Round 1: +1800
  • Rory McIlroy Tournament Winner: +2200
  • Patrick Reed Tournament Winner: +2800
  • Hideki Matsuyama first round leader: +4000
  • Paul Casey first round leader: +6000

Nearly all sportsbooks in VA will have some type of US Open betting specials. So log into your favorite book to see what’s available. And don’t forget that golf has some of the best live betting options in sports, so your US Open wagering can continue throughout the weekend.
