The Virginia Lottery called its New Year’s Millionaire Raffle “Virginia’s best odds to start 2023 as a millionaire.”
Hopefully, you got your ticket in time. Lottery officials tell PlayVirginia the last of 625,000 tickets were sold at 9:23 a.m. Thursday. The winning ticket numbers will be announced at 1 p.m. Sunday.
Altogether, five raffle tickets carry the $1 million top prize. Here’s a look at the odds:
- $1 million (5 available) — 1-in-125,000
- $100,000 (7) — 1-in-89,286
- $500 (1,000) — 1-in-625
Overall odds are 1-in-618 for the 2023 version of Virginia’s New Year’s Millionaire Raffle.
Millionaire Raffle winners announced Jan. 1
Virginia’s New Year’s Millionaire Raffle tickets have been on sale since Nov. 1. Lottery vending machines and lottery retailers offer the plays.
Watch for the promo code on the bottom of each raffle ticket, too. It can be used to get a one-time 50% off online Powerball purchase of between $10 and $100. The promo code only works one time per valottery.com account, however.

Virginia’s New Year’s Millionaire Raffle odds of 1-in-125,000 compare favorably to $1 million odds in the state’s other draw games:
