Virginia Sportsbooks Get Creative For NCAA College Football Opening Weekend

NCAA college football

The 2021 NCAA college football season is underway, and Virginia sports betting apps have rolled out some big promotions for opening weekend.

Sure, Virginia sports bettors can’t actually bet on Virginia colleges and universities. Not within Virginia borders, anyway.

But even without the University of Virginia, Virginia Tech, Liberty University (led by standout QB Malik Willis), and other VA schools on the betting menu, this weekend’s schedule is stacked.

The opening weekend schedule is stacked. Eight NCAA college football games are scheduled for Friday evening. Another 58 take place on Saturday. We even get a game on Sunday (No. 9 Notre Dame at Florida State) and Monday, Labor Day (Louisville at Ole Miss).

And if you plan to wager on any of these dozens upon dozens of games, be sure to check out Virginia sports betting promos. They got creative for Week 1.

NCAA college football promos at DraftKings

DraftKings VA has a couple of promos worth checking out for NCAA college football opening weekend.

One of them, in fact, is just for Virginia customers.

An easy “Hammer the Over” at DraftKings

Do you think the University of Georgia (32.3 points per game in 2020) and Clemson University (43.5) can combine for a single point in their game on Saturday night? It’s basically a no-brainer, right?

Thankfully, that game is the focus of the latest Hammer the Over promo at DraftKings. The more DK customers who hammer it, the lower the total dips. As of Friday afternoon, it was just three points, and it’s likely to dip to zero or close to it by game time.

The offer is available to both new and current customers.

Just find the special market under the college football section, and then place your wager (up to $25) with +100 odds. It’s about as close to a sure thing as you’ll find in sports betting.

ACC profit boosts at DK

DraftKings is also throwing a bone to VA sports bettors who can’t bet on the Cavaliers or Hokies. Bettors can’t wager on those Atlantic Coast Conference staples, but they can get a boost if they bet on other ACC games.

DK is offering three 10% profit boosts on your winnings for Week 1 games (Sept. 2-6) in the ACC.

Be sure to choose the boost on your betting slip, and then you can bet up to $50 per game with max additional winnings of $100.

Live bets and parlays are eligible. However, bonus bets, cash out bets, voided bets, and odds boosts are not.

A trio of college football offerings from Caesars

Caesars VA has been aggressively courting new and existing players since rebranding from William Hill a month ago.

Now, Caesars has rolled out a trio of promos for the start of college football.

V for Victory (and $500)

The V for Victory promotion has players bet at least $50 on the spread of five selected games. If all five wagers win, you get an extra $500 bonus, in addition to your usual winnings.

The games include:

  • Alabama vs Miami (FL)
  • Indiana vs Iowa
  • West Virginia vs Maryland
  • Navy vs Marshall
  • Central Michigan vs Missouri

The odds of winning what’s essentially a five-leg parlay are about 4%. If you’re betting the games anyway, this is a nice little bonus opportunity. Otherwise, you’re going to have to put $250 at risk for that long shot of winning $500.

Parlay Diem

With the Parlay Diem promotion, bettors can get what’s essentially a bonus shot at a four-leg college football parlay.

Choose four games from Saturday’s schedule. Then, if you lose your parlay, you’ll get a bonus bet equal to 100% of your stake, up to $25.

The minimum odds must be at least +300, and you’re not permitted to bet on both sides of a game.

End Zone Energy: Fighting Irish vs. Seminoles

In the lone Labor Day matchup on Monday, Florida State hosts Notre Dame. Caesars has put together the End Zone Energy promotion for the primetime game.

If you bet at least $50 on the spread of the game and your team wins, you’ll earn an extra $10 for each touchdown your team scores.

So, for example, if you bet on the Irish (-7) and they cover the spread by winning 42-28, you get the bonus. In this case, we’ll say Notre Dame scored all of the points off six touchdowns, so you’d get a $60 bonus on top of your regular winnings.

The promo is for only the Notre Dame-FSU game, and you can’t bet on both sides of the game.

Get a $25 site credit at FanDuel

FanDuel VA has a fairly straightforward proposition for new and existing players.

Simply opt in from the promotions page, and then place a bet with odds of -200 or greater (-200, -100, +200, etc.). If your first bet loses, you get it back (up to $25) in the form of site credit.

Parlays are eligible (all legs must be college football games), but bets using bonus funds, odds boosts, and cashed out bets aren’t eligible.

Bet credit token, one-game parlay at BetMGM

BetMGM VA also has some offers for pigskin enthusiasts.

A $25 site credit token awaits all players. Use it in your bet slip for any college football game throughout the 2021 season. If it loses, you’ll get your wager returned as a bonus bet.

BetMGM also is highlighting its one-game parlay options. If you place at least $25 on a one-game parlay in college football, you’ll receive a $10 bonus bet to use on any live sports wager.

The OGP $10 bonus bet promotion lasts all season long, and players can earn a $10 bonus bet each week, Thursday-Sunday.

Just be sure to opt-in from the Promotions page.

Other NCAA college football promotions in VA

Here are what some other Old Dominion sportsbooks are offering Virginians this weekend:

  • Unibet VA: With the Get $6 With Every Touchdown promo, players wager at least $50 on the Georgia-Clemson spread. Then, you get $6 in bonus bets for each TD your team scores, win or lose, in the game.
  • BetRivers VA: For the Clemson-Georgia game, BetRivers has an odds boost for the prop bet of “over 6.5 TDs scored” between the two teams. The total for the game was 51 as of Friday afternoon. The odds for over 6.5 TDs were -106, but they’ve been boosted to +150.
  • WynnBET VA: Bet $100 total, and you’ll get a $20 bonus bet the following Wednesday from WynnBET. Simply opt-in for the simple Wednesday promotion, and then bet on college football or any other sports.
